• Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a lightweight, building material suitable for producing concrete.
• AAC simultaneously provides structure, insulation, and fire- and mold-resistance. 
• AAC blocks are made from sand, cement, lime, and aluminum powder.
• The aluminum powder reacts with calcium hydroxide and water to create hydrogen gas, which forms numerous tiny air bubbles throughout the mixture. 
• AAC blocks are fire-resistant and can withstand high temperatures. They do not emit toxic gases when exposed to fire.
